After a string of hit singles released last year, local pop sensation Daniel Baron is finally embarking on a new era as he prepares for the release of his upcoming fourth studio album ‘City Of God and The Jungle Below’. The new record comes three years after Daniel released his previous album ‘Weekend Of Mass Destruction’, which featured multiple hit singles including the number one smash hit ‘Children Of The Sun’. The new material shows off a bold and never-before-seen side to the star. Ahead of the album’s release later this year, Daniel has dropped his brand-new single ‘Cannibal’ which, yet again, showcases the star’s impressive vocal range, love for sonic experimentation and excellent songwriting skills. ‘Cannibal’ is the first chapter in the story Daniel plans to share on his new album and the star adds that the song is all about contrasts. The lyrical content in the track is edgy and provocative while the song’s general tone is happy and sweet. “‘Cannibal’ is an animalistic yet playful piece of art,” Daniel shares. “It's got an organic acoustic tone edged up with some bad-ass electronic bass which is all being held together with a funked-up jungle beat.” Daniel has always been one for experimentation and strives to go where no other artist has ventured. Sonically, ‘Cannibal’ is a primal alternative pop tune. The song stands out because it's fun and melodically chirpy in a creepy kind of way with lyrics that are both raw and relatable. "After I created this song, I listened to it countless times and also played it to a few people. No one had heard anything like it before and it couldn’t be placed into a genre,” Daniel shares. “I like to call this genre Jungle Pop. ‘Cannibal’ is something new and fresh and with the rise in popularity of dark pop around the world, the track is on trend while pushing the boundaries." Daniel refers to this next era of his music career as a new frontier for him. "This is some of the greatest, craziest and boldest music I have created yet," he says. “‘Cannibal’ is the perfect introduction to my new era and I can’t wait to share what else I’ve been cooking up in the studio with everyone over the next few months.” After spending a large part of last year working on his upcoming material, Daniel is excited to show the world what he has been working on. “I am really excited to share my new music over the next few months. I recently became a father and I can confidently say that I have found my soulmate. This all has inspired some of my best work to date and the album creation process has been so special and enlightening.”
